 |
Child health and ability to learn are interrelated.
As each parent is aware that the ability of the child to learn is dependent
on the Childs physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Adequate provisions
need to be taken from conception to adulthood to ensure healthy all round
development in children.
Parents should be concerned about the eating habits of their children,
as they are aware that a well balanced diet is important to meet the changing
demands of the body at each level of development. Children need adequate
amounts of proteins, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and sugar to ensure
a healthy body and therefore a healthy mind. It is a known fact that a
healthy child can concentrate more and tire less easily. Moreover research
has proved that some nutrients like zinc, iron, folic acid etc are linked
to an increase in brain function.
Child health and ability to learn are influenced by the mental and physical
health of the child as it affects the way in which a child will respond
to his surroundings. .Children show development in the many areas that
are broadly classified as physical development, cognitive development,
intellectual development and social development. A healthy child can easily
achieve these but poor mental and physical well being can result in eating
disorders, personality disorders, or in extreme cases mental retardation
Response of the child to external stimuli which could be by feeling, touching
or seeing is related to his learning ability. Mentally and physically
healthy children achieve developmental milestones more comfortably than
those with poor physical health.
Child health and Ability to learn are dependent on each other. Important
developmental changes occur in each stage of development and physical
exercise along with a balanced diet is vital to meet the demands of the
growing body. All growing children need a balanced diet to meet the demands
of their growing bodies.
