Toddler sleep Issues are quite varied for all parents. Many infants normally manage to get the required amount of sleep by themselves but the same is not true for toddlers. Since adequate sleep has been related to the physical and mental well being of children toddler sleep issues have gained a lot of attention by both parents and doctors all over.

There are certain basic issues like how much sleep is required by the child, when can the toddler be made to sleep separately, what sleeping pattern should be followed by the parent, why the toddler insists on taking his toys or things to bed with him and why the toddler wakes up frequently at night are of great concern to parents. Along with these are frequent awakening of the toddler at night, talking in their sleep, sleepwalking, bedwetting and nightmares etc are also very common toddler sleep issues faced by parents all over.

Toddler sleep issues are influenced by many factors. Some toddlers may have sleeping problems because they are over stimulated by their surroundings to sleep or may be the toddlers have over-exerted themselves to be able to calm down and sleep or they may be anxious about being separated from their parents to sleep on their own or other physical factors like being hungry or too hot or cold.

Many factors are there which help determine why some children follow bedtime rules and some don’t. Toddler Sleep Issues are important for everyone in society as lack of adequate sleep affects parents and that in turn affects their relationships in life, society and their economic productivity.
